The Scholastic Book Fairs at Dailard have long been a student favorite and continue to encourage our kids to enter a world of learning they can only get from reading. The school hosts two book fair events throughout the year. A percentage of all sales directly benefits our library.

NEW THIS YEAR: The book fair will be open for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to purchase items with their class during their library book preview time. If you would like your student to purchase items during this time, please send them to school with cash (or setup an ewallet) in a ziplock bag or envelope. Credit/Debit/Apple Pay, etc will only be accepted before/after school. Please talk with your child beforehand about spending limits and permitted items (e.g. toys vs books, purchasing for friends, etc). If you would like to volunteer with your grade, please email president@dailard.org ASAP. Thank you!

If this is your first Dailard Book Fair, you may be wondering: Do I order books ahead of time? Do I send money? Does my child shop on their own? Here’s what you need to know!

 What is the Book Fair?
For one week, the Dailard Library turns into a Scholastic bookstore filled with books and other fun finds for students to browse and buy. A percentage of Book Fair sales directly benefits the Dailard Library.

 When should my child shop?
Whenever possible, we encourage students to visit the Book Fair with a parent or caregiver during our before- and after-school shopping hours. It’s a great opportunity to browse together and help your child choose books they’ll enjoy. The book fair will be open for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to purchase items with their class during their library book preview time. 

We also offer opportunities for 3rd–5th grade students to shop during school and for Primetime students to shop during designated Primetime hours. These are additional options for families who aren’t able to visit together.

 What is an eWallet?
Think of it as your child’s digital Book Fair spending money. Parents can set up an eWallet in advance and add the amount they’d like their child to spend. Family and friends can contribute, too!

 Am I choosing the books ahead of time?
No! You provide the budget, and your child gets to choose the books.
Parents can print out the eWallet information and send it to school with their child. If they don’t, that’s okay! Students can ask a Book Fair volunteer to look up their eWallet before they shop or at checkout.

 What if my child doesn’t spend the entire eWallet balance?
Unused eWallet funds aren’t lost and can be used for future eligible Scholastic purchases or a future Book Fair.

 Can parents shop too?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage families to shop together during our before- and after-school Book Fair hours. Families can also shop online through the Scholastic link above.

 Shop even MORE titles online!
Our book fair continues online Dailard will receive 25% of all website purchases until September 3. If you don’t see a book or item at our fair, check for it at our online store (scroll till you see “Shop Now”). Books will ship directly to your home. If you missed the fair times, don’t worry. Several Dailard teachers also offer Scholastic book fairs throughout the year. Check with them for their individual classroom codes so your class can get credit for your purchase. DSF also hosts two book fairs a year: in August and May.
