Dailard Parents,

It has been my pleasure to serve as the Dailard PTF Board President these last two years. I feel blessed to have been part of a group of parents and teachers that continually think of what would be best for our kids and how they can enrich the classroom.  Being involved at this level has been so rewarding because I've had a part in seeing the fruits of our labor.  This has been a continual process since I was the PTF Programs Chair 4 years ago.  We set out to improve communication from the PTF to the parents by starting an email list. Now we have ConnectEd and hear it straight from the principal every Monday. We were tired of nickle and diming the parents through all the fundraising and have been able to reduce it to three events that raised over $80,000 this year. The most exciting part was the last meeting when the Board was able to approve funds to provide our valued resource teacher with a new LCD document camera, add two new shade covers and two trees to the kindergarten playground, picnic tables for the primary playground, new recess and P.E. equipment, laptops for the remaining teachers that hadn't already received one, and most importantly raising the per child grant money from $25 to $50. This is exciting and our kids benefit most from it. I couldn't imagine sending my kids anyplace else.

Holly Keehn will now be taking over as your PTF Board President.  She has been on the Board for two years and knows the drill.  Stacey Carrillo is stepping in for our wonderful 3rd grade teacher Meredith Gies who has been on the Board for 6 years. That's commitment!  I can't encourage you enough to be a part of your children's school and education.  These committees don't run on their own. It takes lots of dedication and hardwork to make these fundraisers be successful. Our meetings are open to all who would like to attend.

Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to our school. I look forward to being able to help out in my son's class now that he is my only child at Dailard.
