Dailard School Pledge

Welcome to Dailard Elementary School! We are located in the San Carlos area of San  Diego. Our school features award-winning staff members dedicated to providing an  outstanding child-centered instructional program. 

Our mission is for administrators, staff,  students, and parents to work together to provide a positive and challenging learning  environment that supports learning at all levels.   

Our school, staff, students, and parents are to be commended for exceeding our Academic  Performance Index (API) growth targets school wide for the past four years. Dailard has been  recognized as one of San Diego's top-ranking schools. Our API scores have put us in the top 10  percent of all similar schools statewide.   Our students have continued scoring highly in the California Achievement Test (CAT/6).  We will continue our efforts to improve.   Professional development has and will always stay at the forefront of everything we do to  improve ourselves as educators. We are dedicated to the work of continuous improvement of  teaching and learning. We at Dailard are very proud to be part of such a dedicated and  dynamic learning community!

Parent and Community Involvement: There are many opportunities for parents to be involved at their child's school site (for  example, governance committees, special events, fundraising events, parent organizations, and  classrooms) and at the district level (for example, Parent Congress, district councils/  committees, Parent University, and special events). We also encourage parents to support their  children at home by discussing their education expectations and creating a positive homework and learning environment in the home. We at Dailard are committed to obtaining community resources for our school and invite all stakeholders to assist us in the education of our students. Our Parent Teacher Foundation (PTF) works to provide financial support and enrichment  opportunities for students and staff. Our School Site Council (SSC) and Site Governance Team (SGT) are involved in decisions related to school needs. Parents volunteer as readers, tutors, chaperones, and coordinators of school events.
