Activities & Events

The Dailard School Foundation activities and events are its pride and joy! It is our privilege to support the students, faculty, staff, and families of the Dailard community—educationally, socially, and financially—and it is absolutely what we do best! These activities and events create opportunities for students and parents to get to know each other and serve as the primary fundraisers that enable the DSF to enrich Dailard’s educational culture.

5th Grade Activities
Dailard 5th graders look forward to a variety of springtime activities that make their last year at school memorable, such as field trips, the 5th Grade Picnic, a promotion ceremony, and class T-shirts. They do their own fundraising for these events.

Art & Culture
Dailard is as committed to the fine arts as it is to the performing arts! The Arts & Culture committee works with teachers to present art lessons and projects and to display student artwork where everyone can enjoy them. To help achieve this goal, the DSF invested in Arts Attack, a K–5 curriculum with 24 art lessons for each grade level. Teachers receive a DVD with a modeled lesson and a packet of resources that can be customized for their classes.

Auction
The Dailard School Foundation hosts an annual silent auction to raise money for its programs and events. In the past the auction has been held concurrently with Spring Fling, but this year it’s joining DailardFest in the fall. You can read more about the Auction here.

Dailard Dolphin Fun Run & 5K
Set at Mission Trails Regional Park and open to the entire community, the Dolphin Fun Run & 5K is your chance to get some fresh air and exercise, hang out and work out, and win raffle prizes. All ages are welcome, and Dailard teachers run for free! Click here to learn more about this event.

DailardFest
In 2014-2015 the DSF introduces DailardFest–an adults-only evening with an Octoberfest theme! Tickets will include dinner and drinks, and you’ll also have the chance to bid on silent auction items to raise money for our school programs. More information about this new event is on the DailardFest page.

The Dolphin Pledge Drive
The Dolphin Pledge Drive is the first major fundraiser of the school year. It is one of the two large-scale events we host in lieu of a multitude of sales drives that pressure students and families to sell products to friends and neighbors. (The other major fundraiser is the Jog-a-thon.) The pledge drive also ensures that 100% of the proceeds benefit the school, instead of sharing profits with an outside organization. Holiday Bazaar
The Holiday Bazaar is a week-long bazaar held on campus during school hours in early December. Students come with a shopping list, and parent volunteers help them choose and purchase gifts for friends and relatives. For information about how the bazaar is supplied and organized, click here.

Jog-a-thon
Dailard’s annual Jog-a-thon is the DSF’s biggest fundraising event of the year. It supports Dailard’s commitment to the physical fitness of the student body. Money raised from the Jog-a-thon supports technology, the arts, classroom grants, instructional support materials, and more. For details about the 2011 Jog-a-thon, including prizes, click here.

Run/Walk Club
The “Dashers” Run/Walk club is a parent-sponsored activity for 1st through 5th graders. Twice a week, students run or walk laps during recess and track their progress. They can earn tokens and T-shirts when they reach certain milestones, and they enjoy an end-of-the-year celebration. More information about The Dashers is here.

Spring Fling
Dailard’s Spring Fling brings the excitement of a carnival boardwalk to school. From cakewalks to dunking booths, with feats of skill and savvy, and concessions to recharge brains and bodies, the festival offers something fun to everyone. For information about booths and activities, click here.

Yearbook (yearbook@dailard.org)
The Yearbook staff collects pictures of Dailard students and functions throughout the year and publishes a yearbook that students can purchase for a nominal cost. It is not a fundraiser.
